The film industry is a field Priyanka Chopra is already familiar with, having worked on a number of big-budget projects. Nevertheless, she wasn’t prepared for what happened on the set of her new action film, Heads of State.
Amazon Prime is all set to stream a new feature, which stars the Bollywood actress, John Cena and Idris Elba. One event during the campaign trail caught her off guard and ended in a funny and wholly unexpected way.
A Surprise Prank on Day One
A very surprised and lively Priyanka Chopra mentioned in an early film interview that her first day of shooting was nothing but a stormy ride. “I went into the studio with confidence,” she said, “walking confidently,” and then, instantly, I am surrounded by John and Idris, who pretend to throw real grenades at me.
The grenade throwing was not real, by the way. However, the prank was so audible and outrageous that the whole crew responded by bursting into laughter. “That’s how they break the ice,” Priyanka said. “I have never gotten such a crazy welcome. It was total chaos – but very funny.”
Working with Two Hollywood Powerhouses
Evading media-related cliches, her remarks were filled with nothing but warmth and admiration for the two actors. “Idris is formally composed, quiet, and self-possessed. John is like a happy active ball of energy,” she pointed out. “But I will say they both come across as nothing less than a total pro.”
She was honest about her initial feelings. “You know these guys from big action films. So I thought I need to be very serious,” she admitted. “But, in fact, it was they who made me feel comfortable. Every day at work was just a barrel of laughs.”
What Makes ‘Heads of State’ Different
Heads of State doesn’t follow the same action-movie pattern. Priyanka compares it to “a roller-coaster of emotions and actions with a lot of unexpected but welcome comic elements. While the film has its portion of high-risk events, there are also elements of the absurd and “unpredictable” scenes that evoke a lot of laughter.
Rumor has it that the movie will deal with political turmoil, secret missions, that will find the actors in the middle and explosive action. Shekhar Kapoor, India’s legendary director, also has an undisclosed big role, albeit his character’s nature is not yet known.
“I was allowed to experience new experiences while shooting this project. Especially, you will see a new side of me,” she teased.
The Movie Story’s Excitement Doesn’t End Only With Leading Stars
People have been raving about her sense of style off-camera, there’s no doubt about that. The last example was when she put on a red bubble-style dress and stepped out with Nick Jonas on a date, and those pictures went viral as they received a lot of attention.
It’s the powerful aura she gives off alongside the Heads of State, however, that has elicited the most compelling reactions from her fans. With two of the greatest action superstars, Idris Elba and John Cena, by her side, we are seeing the actress ushering the era of new action film stardom.
